My Approach

I will hold space for you, and show up as my authentic self, so that I may fully meet you where you are.

I wholeheartedly believe that our growth and transformation comes when we are in deep connection to ourselves, and to others. I do not subscribe to the paradigm where the therapist is a blank slate or the all-knowing expert. Rather I see my role as one where I hold space for you, and show up as my full self, so that I may fully meet you where you are. I will provide support and tools so that you can tap into your own inherent wisdom, to create the kind of life you are meant to lead.

In our sessions I work with you to re-connect (or perhaps for the first time) to your true self including body, mind, and spirit. In short, we will come together as women have for Millenia, transforming through stories, and cultivating shared wisdom. I draw upon somatic, ecotherapy, and spiritual counseling practices to tap into an inner knowing and to foster a deep sense of connection.

Mind, Body, Spirit

My therapeutic approach is holistic. I honor the mind, body, and spirit as three distinct, but closely interrelated aspects of ourselves. Dis-ease in any one of these can come from an imbalance, which profoundly affects the others. This lack of balance (often caused by an over-dominant mind) can result in our feeling disconnected, numb, or anxious. This is our soul’s way of letting us know that we are lacking integration in our body, mind, and spirit, and perhaps missing deep, meaningful connections to ourselves, others, or the earth.

I recognize and honor that we do not exist in isolation. So much of our collective suffering comes from factors in our environment that are not serving us. As a result, our nervous systems are over-taxed, and since we don’t have the time, capacity, and skills to regulate them, we’re living at the edge of survival. (I also feel strongly this is an intentional byproduct of social and structural arrangements, but I digress.)

Healing is not easy, but it is possible. This journey begins once we learn to listen to the wisdom of our bodies, tune into and honor our spirit, and come into community with others.

A Medicine Woman’s Prayer

I will not rescue you.
For you are not powerless.
I will not fix you,
For you are not broken.
I will not heal you,
For I see you in your wholeness.
I will walk with you through the darkness.
As you remember your light.
